Bio
Dave Pellowe is a writer & commentator on all things cultural & political. Christian by choice and conservative by coincidence, he believes in natural law & freedom, objective Truth & justice. He advocates personal responsibility with voluntary charity, strong nations & families, free markets & small government. His area of special interest is the Biblical role of the Church – Christians – in politics & culture.
The Editor in Chief of The Good Sauce, his words have also been published in The Spectator, Quadrant Online, Online Opinion and more in & outside Australia.
Dave founded the annual Australian Church And State Summit in 2018, and in 2020 helped launch the first Australian Sanctity of Life Sunday.
“Pellowe Talk” – Dave’s blog, podcast & video channels – feature expert interviews and commentary about important public issues. He interviews national & international thought leaders like politicians, lobbyists, ethicists, industry and church leaders, academics and media personalities – all with very diverse worldviews and opinions about the issues that affect and shape our society.
Dave’s first hand political experience includes being a successful local election campaign media consultant and then director (winning a very safe seat from Labor). Dave served the Family First Party for many state & federal elections on the Qld state executive until the party eventually merged with the Australian Conservatives.
He is now independent of any political party.

Should the Church be apolitical?
Dave Pellowe teaches that if the Christians are to be salt & light and if the Church is to be a city set on a hill, our compassion & love for 25 million neighbours must overflow into informed, effective action – not prayer alone. God hates injustice, and so must His followers. Don’t worry, Dave does not call us to blindly follow any party or a politician. Christians follow Jesus, and in Him & His Word is where we find our unity. There should be no difference when it comes to raising our voices in the public square on essential issues.
“The Lord looked and was displeased to find there was no justice.
He was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed.“
– Isaiah 59:15b-16a
