This video was recorded at the CAS Adelaide 2025 conference, “Seeking God for South Australia” on 11 October 2025, preparing Christian voters to approach the coming state election motivated by love of neighbour and decide how the state’s governance should go – their voting preferences – by comparing candidates to issues God considers most important after careful research, preparation, prayer and discussion.

We’re not hearing this in our churches – and we should be. That’s the blunt truth. The message delivered at this Church and State conference in South Australia is one of urgent clarity, biblical conviction, and unapologetic truth. It’s a call to arms for Christians to stop outsourcing their civic duty to the secular world and start stewarding the gift of democracy with the diligence God demands.

This isn’t just another talk about politics. It’s a prophetic exhortation to the church to reclaim its voice in the public square. Dave Pellowe begins with heartfelt prayer, acknowledging the undeserved blessings Australia enjoys and the foundational truth that our Constitution itself recognises – our reliance on Almighty God. But what we’ve lost is humility. And with it, the understanding that without God, we fail.

The heart of the message is simple: Christians must vote like Christians. That means not being blindly partisan, not being lazy, and not being indifferent. It means being diligent, faithful, and prayerful. Dave draws from Scripture – Solomon’s request for political wisdom, Joshua’s encounter with the commander of the Lord’s army, and the parable of the talents – to show that God expects us to steward our influence wisely. In a democracy, we are the rulers. And that means we bear the responsibility for the governance of our nation.

There’s a powerful rebuke here for those who think politics is “too complicated” or “not spiritual.” That attitude, we’re told, is not acceptable for kings – and it’s not acceptable for voters. Dave dismantles the misuse of verses like “render unto Caesar” and “my kingdom is not of this world,” showing that Jesus is sovereign over every square inch of creation. That includes Parliament House.

Importantly, this isn’t a call to vote for a particular party. It’s a call to start undecided, seek God’s heart, and then decide. It’s a call to compare every candidate to Jesus, not to party platforms or media spin. And it’s a call to campaign for righteousness – not just vote for it. Christians are urged to be like the Good Samaritan, investing time, money, and effort into the welfare of their neighbours through the political process.

If you are serious about loving your neighbour and seeking first the Kingdom of God, do not miss the next Church And State conference near you.

Dave also gives practical advice on how to vote effectively. In Australia’s preferential voting system, numbering every box is essential. Doing the legal minimum is not good enough. If you want your Christian voice to be heard all the way to the final decision, you must number every box. Websites like numbereverybox.com.au and christiansvote.com.au are highlighted as key resources to help Christians prepare their vote prayerfully and wisely.

This message is bold, biblical, and desperately needed. It’s not divisive – it’s unifying. It’s not political – it’s theological. And it’s not optional – it’s obedience. The church must stop being silent. We must stop being passive. And we must start being the prophetic voice God has called us to be in this nation.

If you care about Australia’s future – if you care about righteousness, justice, and truth – then you need to watch this full episode. Share it with your pastor. Share it with your church. Share it with every Christian you know. Because if we don’t show up, the wicked will. And they’re not wasting time.
