Israel Folau has accepted an offer from the Australian Christian Lobby and replaced the campaign to crowdfund his fight against religious persecution in the workplace. Corporate giant GoFundMe had given Folau’s campaign a red card and sin-binned the record try scorer because they deemed his religious convictions intolerable.

The virtue-signalling move by GoFundMe has cost them more $40,000 in commissions and backfired on the angry activists demanding Folau be denied equal rights to voluntary public donations. Many of the over 10,000 original donors who will now be refunded have pledged to double their donation, and many more are promising to never donate via GoFundMe again.

ACL’s Martyn Iles said, “ACL will be donating $100,000 to his legal defence, because it’s right and it sets an important legal precedent.”

You can support Israel Folau and freedom of religion in workplaces by donating to a trust account to pay for Israel Folau’s legal case here.

Why do the nations rage,
And the people plot a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,
Against the Lord and against His Anointed.
 – Psalm 2:1-2
