The evangelical atheist society, Atheists In Kenya, was founded to advocate for secularism, non-religion and their fervently held faith that “the universe is a natural phenomenon with no supernatural side”. Their website has recent press releases including, “Women, stop praying for husbands“, “Trusting God never works“, “National Prayer Breakfast is an insult to Kenyans“, and “Secretary Seth Mahiga Resigns“.
The last one more honestly reports:
This evening, regretfully, the Secretary of the Atheists In Kenya Society Mr. Seth Mahiga informed me that he has made the decision to resign from his position as Secretary of the society.
Seth’s reason for resigning is that he has found Jesus Christ and is no longer interested in promoting atheism in Kenya.
We wish Seth all the best in his new found relationship with Jesus Christ. We thank him for having served the society with dedication over the last one and half years.
The position of Secretary of the Society has been rendered vacant. We are calling upon Kenyan atheists who would wish to join our Executive Committee to send their CVs to email@example.com.
The atheist society then generously includes video of Mr Mahiga (who’d spent the last 18 months of his life in the service of persuading people there is no God) testifying of his new-found faith, and bowing his knees to and confessing the Lordship of Jesus Christ at Life Church International Nairobi.
“I was the former secretary of the largest atheist organisation in Africa representing around 5 million atheists in Africa. A couple of days ago I’d been going through a couple of difficulties in life, and I decided to resign as secretary. I’m so happy to be here.”
“Jesus is Lord.”
In the comments beneath the video, Baraka Kamari commented, “Thanks for his resignation, I am the new secretary of Atheists in Kenya ?. Amen.“
