“BLESSED ARE THE pacifists, for they shall be called virtuous and left alone.”

This quote is not well known, because it’s one of those things Jesus Christ never said.

What He did say was, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”

Peacemakers, like the police who even pacifists call when someone is breaking into their home. There aren’t many pacifists who will virtue signal when three large blokes without a high school diploma between them but enough methamphetamines coursing through each of them to kill a horse are beating on the front door.

They’ll dial triple zero and won’t tell the cops to bring teddy bears and skittles to share. They will count on the officers being armed and ready to use deadly force.

When the aggressor is unable to be rationalised with, unwilling to negotiate and refuses to surrender, lethal force is absolutely necessary and telling the cops to ceasefire before the threat has been neutralised is stupid.

They are there to protect the innocent. They are there to make peace, by any means necessary, and God bless them.

So when Micah Australia director and bleeding heart pacifist Tim Costello calls for a “ceasefire” in Gaza so more innocent people don’t get hurt, I have to wonder what he’s been smoking in his peace pipe!

For the record: I wholeheartedly agree that every death of every innocent life regardless of ethnicity, religion or location is a human tragedy.

Standing on the graves of dead children to breathlessly “pray” (Christian code word for gossip) for a ceasefire in Gaza is a semantically loaded political statement that the worst thing that can happen is the death of more innocents in Israel’s war against Hamas rapist terrorists in Gaza.

But it’s not.

The Unlucky Country - Zimmermann & Moens

We must be so feelingly alive to their suffering and sacrifice that we put aside partisan politics, see beyond the manipulation of emotions, and righteously measure the human consequences of allowing the enemies of humanity to continue undeterred.

Peace for our time,” was the declaration of the infamous fool who was England’s Prime Minister while the last Holocaust emerged in Europe. He too was desperate to avoid war with that generation’s monsters who also had a sociopathic agenda to exterminate all Jews and prevent Israel becoming a nation again.

Less than a year later National Socialist German armies invaded Poland and began World War II. Leaving evil maniacs free to wreak havoc is to hate all innocents, children and otherwise.

The worst thing that can happen in Gaza is the continued existence, political power and agenda of Hamas. Believing there’ll be peace for Gazan or Israeli children if they are allowed to escape justice is naive in the extreme, and willfully ignorant of the extreme price of pacificism.

Tim Costello scandalously takes the Lord’s Name in vain when he falsely claims,

“God calls us in this moment to lament, to pray, to plead that there be a ceasefire.”

God wants us to pray for a ceasefire? Really?!

Taking the Lord’s Name in vain is not merely, as is commonly thought, to use God’s Holy Name as a cuss word; but to flagrantly forge His Name as endorsement of something He has not and would not endorse.

“Peace” I get. That’s as Biblical as it is broad: not limited to Israel effectively surrendering, but could include Hamas terrorists surrendering or being more quickly defeated.

Praying for divine protection for innocents and even more accuracy in IDF attacks against evildoers I get. You could even pray that Hamas start trying to avoid innocent civillians for the first time since… 2005? 1987?

These are all word choices any Christian leader could have validly asserted God wills.

But there is zero Biblical or moral ground on which to stand when claiming God wills a ceasefire.

The level of hubris it takes to claim God wants Israel to stop pursuing and destroying the terrorist militants who invaded, brutally butchered, raped and massacred innocent Israelis on October 7 and remorselessly swore to do so again and again until Israel’s land and all disputed territories are under Muslim rule – is unrivalled in measure.

Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain was a pacifist. So were the French who rolled over when Nazi tanks rolled in. Pacifists are a welcome mat for tyrants and terrorists to wipe their feet on.

War is always tragic, always a last resort, but never off the table. Rather than historically ignorant pacifists, let us instead be peacemakers, consistent with all – not just some – of what God has said for Himself.

“For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.”

 – Romans 13:3-4

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.
Peace be within your walls,
Prosperity within your palaces.”
For the sake of my brethren and companions,
I will now say, “Peace be within you.”
Because of the house of the Lord our God
I will seek your good.”

 – Psalm 122:6-9
