The following summary of the good video above is by The Good Sauce
If you only listened to the mainstream media, you’d think Australia was overrun by neo-Nazis last during the marches on 31 August. But if you were actually there—or watched Episode 425 of The Other Side—you’d know the truth is far more encouraging and far less sensational. The Marches for Australia were overwhelmingly peaceful, positive, and patriotic. They were a grassroots response to the Albanese government’s reckless immigration policies, and they were attended by tens of thousands of ordinary Aussies from all walks of life. Yet, predictably, the media and political elites focused on a handful of extremists to smear the entire movement.
Damian Coorey, host of The Other Side, delivered a blistering analysis of the weekend’s events, exposing the cynical tactics used by the Labor government and its media allies to deflect from legitimate criticism. The rallies weren’t anti-immigration—they were anti-mass immigration. That’s a crucial distinction. Australians aren’t xenophobic; they’re simply fed up with the unsustainable pace of migration that’s straining housing, infrastructure, and social cohesion.
The episode featured rally organisers Scott Challen and Rob McMullen, along with Sydney podcaster Joel Jamal, who all agreed that the Brisbane event was a model of peaceful protest. Thanks to strong leadership and coordination with police, Queenslanders showed how to rally with dignity and unity. In contrast, Victoria’s rally was marred by clashes—clashes that could have been prevented but seemingly weren’t. The Victorian government, it seems, wanted the chaos. It served their narrative.
And then there’s the Brittany Higgins saga. Coorey revisited the $2.4 million taxpayer-funded payout, now under scrutiny after two separate court rulings found Higgins’ claims to be misleading or outright false. The Finance Minister, Katie Gallagher, was identified in court as a key contact for Higgins’ partner during the lead-up to her public allegations. Yet Gallagher had ultimate sign-off on the payout. The lack of transparency here is staggering, and calls for an inquiry are growing louder.
Meanwhile, former Victorian Premier Dan Andrews made headlines for attending a Chinese military parade alongside Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin. Coorey rightly asked: why was Andrews invited, and what message does that send to our allies? Andrews holds no official position, yet his proximity to power in Beijing raises serious questions about his role as an informal advisor to Prime Minister Albanese.
The episode also tackled the disturbing bias in Australia’s national broadcaster. Sarah Ferguson’s interview with Deputy PM Richard Marles was a masterclass in ideological activism masquerading as journalism. Her framing of the rallies as “violent neo-Nazi” events was not only misleading but dangerously authoritarian. Coorey called it the worst ABC interview in recent memory—and he’s not wrong.
What’s clear from this episode is that the real threat to Australia isn’t a few fringe extremists—it’s the erosion of free speech, the weaponisation of identity politics, and the deliberate suppression of dissent. The rallies were a wake-up call, not a hate-fest. They were filled with migrants, families, and everyday Australians who simply want a sensible debate about immigration and national priorities.
If you care about Australia’s future, you need to watch this episode. It’s not just commentary—it’s a call to action. The truth matters, and The Other Side is one of the few places you’ll find it.
